The Town of Braselton, 40 miles northeast of Atlanta, is a community that has the unique characteristic of being located in the counties of Barrow, Hall, Gwinnett and Jackson.
Braselton is named after Harrison Braselton, a poor dirt farmer who married Susan Hosch, the daughter of a rich plantation owner on August 11, 1867. Braselton later purchased 786 acres of land north of the Hosch Plantation which was later to be named Braselton. The town of Braselton was incorporated on August 21, 1916.
Today, Braselton is home to the world class Chateau Elan Winery and Resort and the Chateau Elan Golf Course bringing over a half million visitors each year.
The Town of Braselton has experienced rapid growth over the past several years. One factor contributing to Braselton’s growth is it's great location on the I-85 corridor. Another is the attraction to corporate businesses such as the Mayfield Dairy, PetCo, SafeLite, Whole Foods, Home Depot, Year One and Haverty’s Furniture’s Southeast Distribution Center just to name a few. Braselton also has its own water and sewer infrastructure which is a great benefit to both residents and businesses.
Parks And Recreation

Another great recreational area is the Mulberry River Walk. The Town has acquired 200 acres along the Mulberry River with gardens, a natural walking path, footbridges and picnic areas all along the river. Also in the park there is a monument on the spot where all four counties come together and a small rest stop by the river. Public parking is located at 940 Liberty Church Rd.
