The City of Duluth

"Pride in Old and New"

 

The city of Duluth is named in memory of Daniel Greysolon Du Luth (1636 - 1710) who was a French captain and explores.  He was born in Saint Germain Laval, a small village about fifty miles from Lyons.  Daniel Greysolon Du Luth negotiated and signed peace between Saulters and Sious nations in the area of the city of Duluth, September 15th, 1679.

 Duluth is the 4th oldest city in Gwinnett County and is located 25 miles northeast of Atlanta.  As the second largest city in Gwinnett County, Duluth still retains its small-town charm which is reflected by a number of community celebrations throughout the year.  Some of which include the Duluth Fall Festival and live music at the Pavilion.  During the summer months you can enjoy Summer State Concerts and Flicks on the Bricks.  During the winder season a Winter Wonderland on Town Green.

 

Duluth also offers a wide variety of entertainment and recreations activities as well as wonderful places to dine and shop. The City of Duluth is a wonderful to place to live! It is a community with excellent schools and a wide variety of homes and beautiful neighborhoods.
